World No. 1 Nelly Korda had a challenging “moving day” at the 2025 Evian Championship, carding a 75 that saw her drop significantly on the leaderboard. Moving day in golf refers to the penultimate day of a tournament (typically the third round in a four-round event), where players aim to “make a move” up the leaderboard to position themselves for a final-round charge.
Korda began the third round in a share of 12th, five shots off the lead. However, her 75, which included a double bogey on the par-5 ninth and a bogey on the par-5 18th, resulted in her falling to a share of 44th, ten shots behind the leaders heading into the final round. She struggled with her ball-striking, hitting only five fairways and 11 greens, and also needed 32 putts on the day.
Despite Evian Resort Golf Club being known for yielding low scores, Korda’s performance on “moving day” made it difficult for her to contend for the championship. The tournament was ultimately won by Grace Kim in a playoff against Atthaya Thitikul
